where to start

 

STEP 1: CONTACT ME

You may email me or call me to book a session. If you email or call, I will do my best to get back to you within 1-3 days with more information about my practice, and we'll go from there.

 

Regardless of how you contact me, I will reach out to get some basic information about why you're requesting services and see if we might be a good fit for each other. I do this in an effort to make sure that I feel able to help you. I want you to have the best possible therapy experience, which means that if I feel like I am not the best fit for helping you, I will do my best to help you find a therapist who is better suited to meet your needs. I can do the same via email if you prefer that method of contact!

 

STEP 2: SCHEDULE

Based on the information you choose to share, either via email or phone, if I am confident in being able to help then we set up your first session!

We will also discuss how you plan to pay for sessions, whether that is through insurance or out of pocket. Please see the "FAQ" tab for more information about payment.

STEP 1: PAPERWORK

​

Prior to your first session, I will send you a "welcome email" from Sessions Health (the EHR I use), which will prompt you to create a login for your new patient portal.

 

Once you get into the portal, you will find a handful of forms to complete and sign. We cannot have our first session until those forms are completed in full, and I have an opportunity to verify your insurance benefits if you choose to use insurance.

STEP 2: INTAKE

 

Your first session (AKA "intake") is a time for me to get to know you, so I'll ask some questions about who you are, what your life is like, and why you are coming to therapy. 

 

At the end of intake, you will have an opportunity to set your goals for what you want to get from therapy and how you want your life to be different by the time we are done working together.
