finally, a place where your anxious thoughts can rest

The right therapist-client match is everything. You deserve to feel fully comfortable and supported in our sessions. I’ve shared some information about myself here to help you decide if I’m the right partner for your journey.

my philosophy

Joy, empowerment, compassion, and authenticity are at the heart of my work. I believe that many of the experiences that bring people to therapy (fear, shame, self-doubt, uncertainty, and disconnection) also hold opportunities for growth. On the other side of fear is freedom. On the other side of shame is self-compassion. On the other side of vulnerability is authenticity.

My goal is not to help you eliminate every uncomfortable thought or feeling, but to help you build a life that feels rich, meaningful, and aligned with who you truly are. Together, we'll cultivate the courage, flexibility, and self-trust needed to move toward what matters most.

As a therapist, I wear many hats: listener, teacher, coach, cheerleader, creative problem-solver, confidant, and professional secret-keeper. Above all, I strive to create a space where you can show up fully as yourself, without judgment, pretense, or the pressure to be perfect.

One of the things I want most for my clients is the freedom to live their fullest lives: lives guided by personal values, inner wisdom, and a sense of agency. Together, we can uncover and strengthen your confidence, self-compassion, resilience, playfulness, authenticity, flexibility, inner peace, and trust in yourself.

Therapy isn't about becoming someone new, it's about reconnecting with who you are beneath the fear, self-doubt, and uncertainty. If you're ready to begin that process, I'd be honored to walk alongside you.

my credentials

I received my Master of Social Work from the CSWE-accredited  program at Grand Valley State University (GVSU), and I got my start as a therapist working at their University Counseling Center, getting the best clinical training GVSU had to offer. I then worked on a dedicated OCD team in group practice for 5 years before starting my own solo practice. I am a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in Michigan.  I have training in Exposure with Response Prevention (ERP), which is the gold-standard treatment for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). I also have training in Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT) for OCD. Additionally, I have training in CBT, ACT, mindfulness, and self-compassion, which are useful for anxiety, shame, perfectionism, and boundary-setting.

what you can expect from me

Therapy works best when it feels like a genuine relationship, not a one-sided conversation with an expert. You can expect me to be curious, open, compassionate, empathetic, and grounded, while also being direct enough to help you move toward meaningful change. I'll celebrate your wins, sit with you through difficult moments, ask thoughtful questions, and challenge you when it serves your growth.

While I bring professional expertise to our work, I don't hide behind therapist jargon or a carefully crafted professional persona. Above all else, you can expect me to be human. I show up with authenticity, humility, warmth, and a genuine belief in your capacity for growth and change. I take my work seriously, but I don't take myself too seriously, which means there is room in therapy for laughter, creativity, honesty, and imperfection.

Because meaningful healing doesn't happen through perfection; it happens through connection.

my interests

I’m happiest when I’m creating something, spending time at the beach, or exploring new places. Some things I pretty consistently love include thrifting, crafting, decorating my home, reading, & going on walks with my family. You'll often find me crafting during sessions to keep my hands busy while my mind focuses on you, detouring to talk with you about the books you're reading, and encouraging show-and-tell during our sessions.
